My Statement on this situation:

Dear/s 

I totally understand why you feel the need to stand up for Medicine Festival. It’s the most honourable initial reaction to this situation. I have had a lot of respect for the individuals involved, a lot of them are my friends, and colleagues, companions in the medicine movement. If there was any other way, you can be assured I have already tried it. It’s been over 3 years and now is the time to get this concluded and resolved for Jojo’s sake.

I have had a few days to process the shock, been witness to the whole incident and seen all the evidence. 

All I ask is that you take your time to do the same. Read the account, do your own research and make your opinion based on the facts.

This event has a victim. Her name is Jojo, she is the one that will continue to suffer from the accident. She is the one who has and will probably have to undergo further multiple surgeries, who is traumatised and psychologically affected by this situation. Let’s pray for her and the conclusion of this matter.

This matter affects us all, every one of us in the alternative healing and medicine movement. Every one of us that has attended Medicine Festival, volunteered, played music and spent our hard-earned cash to support a Festival founded on the ideals of truth and justice for all.

The ultimate goal of mine is only truth and reconciliation. This is ultimately a high expectation in a world where lies, and deceit often go unpunished, buried, suppressed and hidden by the wealthy and privileged elite.

However we can stand in the knowledge that the truth will always shine through, lessons will be learned and karma is a bitch for those that feel the need to test her power.

Standing for truth in the face of darkness takes courage. I am a warrior, a warrior of the light, and I will not stand by as a divine masculine while the divine feminine is being unfairly treated. It’s my divine destiny to intervene and protect the feminine with all my power if called.

As a 5 year old, I was not able to protect my Mother from my violent and abusive father. But now I carry that disgust for injustice within my cells and I will not be shut down. When I see injustice and I have any power to call it out that’s what I do and will continue to do. No amount of criticism for standing for truth will sway me.

The only way that this situation brings any positive benefit is through truth, accountability, forgiveness and each of us taking responsibility for our part in it. Continued avoidance will only lead to further pain for all involved and further impact on the larger medicine community.
